FAQs

Common questions & answers

Who are Caring Aid?

Caring Aid is the charitable work of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ (SIHMMC), a congregation founded in 1937. We serve the poor and the less privileged through food, education, healthcare and humanitarian support in Nigeria, the UK and beyond.

Where does my donation go?

Your gift supports our programmes — feeding, education, healthcare and empowerment — across four pillars: charity operations, our vision, our finance and ways to support. We publish annual accounts and are committed to full transparency.

Can I Gift Aid my donation?

Yes. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid lets us claim an extra 25% on your donation at no cost to you. Just tick the Gift Aid box when you give.

How can I fundraise for Caring Aid?

In many ways — from a Christmas Dinner Raffle, Dinner for a Cause or Mission Fun Day to pens sales, crowdfunding or your own sponsored challenge. Visit our Get Involved page to start.

How do I leave a gift in my Will?

A legacy gift is a lasting way to support our mission. Get in touch and we’ll send you everything you need to include Caring Aid in your Will.

How can I volunteer?

We welcome volunteers as fundraisers, social media managers, website managers and admin support. Contact us using the form above to find out more.

How can I set up Payroll Giving?

Ask your employer if they offer a Payroll Giving scheme. You can then donate directly from your gross salary before tax — so your gift costs you less and goes further.
